ANCBuddy 2.2.0 supports Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen on macOS. It provides the frequent controls that make sense during a Mac session, while the Bose app remains necessary for firmware, Cinema Mode, detailed case reporting, touch controls, and deeper earbuds customization.

With QC Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen, ANCBuddy provides:

Earbuds-specific limits
Bose documents Cinema Mode for QC Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen. ANCBuddy 2.2.0 does not advertise Cinema Mode control, so enable it in the Bose app.
Bose also documents earbud and charging-case battery reporting in its phone app. ANCBuddy's current public promise is the battery and connection status shown in its Mac panel; this page does not claim separate left-earbud, right-earbud, and case values.
Touch-control configuration, shortcuts, firmware, custom modes, and other deep product settings also remain in the Bose app.
Set up the earbuds on Mac
- Remove the earbuds from the case and keep them awake.
- Pair them in System Settings → Bluetooth.
- Start audio and confirm the Bose earbuds are the selected Mac output.
- Open ANCBuddy from the menu bar.
- Switch a listening mode and confirm the earbuds report the change.
- Expand Audio Sources to inspect the active, connected, and remembered source states.
- Use the troubleshooting guide if the control connection works but Mac audio or source status disagrees.
Source switching and Multipoint
The earbuds can remember several source devices and can keep more than one source connected through Multipoint. ANCBuddy distinguishes the actively streaming source from another connected source and from devices that are only remembered.
Use the audio-source switching guide for the full workflow. ANCBuddy does not advertise a Multipoint on/off toggle; that setting remains in the Bose app.
